AlmaTerra Wines moves website to new platform and the transition took only two business days!

The team at AlmaTerra Wines had a desire to modernize the content management ability on their website. There was a strong desire to relocate the hosting service to one that could easily accommodate a web based content management system.  Their sister site Smasne Cellars was designed by Cellar Door Consultants earlier this year with this idea in mind.

Cellar Door Consultants met with AlmaTerra’s Marketing Director, Echo Smasne, on the morning of Friday August 7 to discuss transitioning the existing website using a set of web based tools to ease the pain of making updates to their content and keep the site current. Their old system required them to return to design software each time they needed a change.

Cellar Door Consultants created a new branded Theme and customized  functionality for  the AlmaTerra website over the weekend, while Echo poured the content of the old website into an online test version of the new site. On Monday morning, the new template was installed and the content was instantly transformed into the new website.

After a brief review, she was ready for Cellar Door Consultants to “move that bus” and transfer the domain to the new site. Branded email was also a part of the transition and within ten minutes the new website was up live and the new branded email was fully functioning and tested.
